Since being drafted in 2019, Damar Hamlin has continued to wow the football community with his fierce tackling and intrepid coverage. From the first day he stepped foot on Heinz Field, he gained recognition for his sharp skills. Off the field, Damar is becoming increasingly recognized for his love of recording his own music and mixing different genres of sound together.

Many music enthusiasts are eager to hear what new sounds Damar can create, which is why we’re providing an update on what he’s been up to musically—in addition to his weekly football efforts! We’ll look at Damar’s latest songs, collaborations and updates so you can stay informed and excited about the artist’s future releases.

The Pittsburgh Steelers have added another terrific young talent in the form of safety Damar Hamlin. Get to know him and why he could be a huge asset to the team!

Damar Hamlin was drafted by the Pittsburgh Steelers with the 24th pick of the sixth round in April’s NFL Draft, bringing another piece of raw talent to the already formidable Steeler defensive secondary.

The Penn State graduate is known for his hard-hitting play, both in run support and defending against passing plays. Hamlin also brings athleticism—he has a 4.48-second forty-yard dash time—and has consistently demonstrated ball skills during his collegiate career that make him highly attractive to NFL teams.

Hamlin may not be done growing yet either—he’s only 21 years old— meaning that he could reach even higher heights if given time to develop further at this level. The Steelers will leave him behind starter Minkah Fitzpatrick at free safety but can count on him as part of their talented reserve clique when needed.

Given his skill set and youth, we can expect big things from Hamlin as part of the Steeler defense for years down the line. He’ll be working alongside stars such as Joe Haden, Cameron Heyward, and Stephon Tuitt in an imposing wall that should stand up strong against opposing offenses across the league this season despite playing home games outdoors while quarantining at Heinz Field instead of their usual indoor facilities due to COVID-19 restrictions.

Notably, Damar is part of a growing trend among NFL teams looking past traditional powerhouses like Ohio State or Alabama and towards smaller schools like Penn State or Marshall where star players are often overlooked but end up making names for themselves in both college football and professional leagues alike. The Steelers’ own Ben Roethlisberger was once a prospect from Miami (OH), a mid-major school prior to joining their ranks back in 2004.

We look forward now towards watching Damar prove himself within the Steeler defense where we believe he can shine brilliantly under defensive coordinator Keith Butler’s guidance once again representing Pittsburgh’s iconic black and gold with pride; not just during home games at Heinz Field, but everywhere on Sundays this fall! Go Damar!
