Washington will once again need a stellar performance from quarterback Alex Smith, who’s 390-yard output against the Lions proved that he is back to his normal self. In addition, Ron Rivera will be looking for faster starts and consistency from his team, especially on the defensive side of the ball. While there is strong play at times, lapses continue to hurt them.

Neither of these teams has had quite the season they wanted. Each with relatively new coaches, new quarterbacks, and plenty of injuries have caused them to fall deeper below the standings each week. The Washington Football Team (2-7) hired Ron Rivera to be their head coach in early January. Unfortunately for them, the move has not yet yielded results. The Bengals (2-6-1) hired their head coach, Zac Taylor, just before last season. He is 4-20-1 with the team. Both franchises look to improve their record, build locker room chemistry, and give fans hope for next season.

Washington’s ranks fifth-worst in the league. It’s true they may have found new life with Smith at the helm, but Washington will have to prove they can win a game before I get on the bandwagon.

Both teams are coming off of losses, as the Bengals were trounced by the Pittsburgh Steelers, 36-10, and the Washington Football team lost 30-27 against the Detroit Lions thanks to a last-second field goal. The last time these two teams faced off was actually in London, where Cincinnati and Washington registered a tie at 27 apiece.
